A roman gladiator fancy dress costume is a made of a few different items. First of all a gladiator would wear different pieces of body armour. So you can have an impressive looking chest plate, a shield which is worn on the arm, leg arm which goes on the shins and some armour which straps round the forearms. The armour that goes on the arms leather is a nice look and you can pick up some nice leather bracelets and straps which go well with this kind of costume.
The helmet is, in my opinion, the best part of this costume. Make sure to pick up a good fancy dress roman helmet. The key feature of this is a large piece of plummage, typically with red feathers, which sprouts out of the top of the helmet. The helmet itself is usually golden.
One the feet some leather sandals with straps running up the shin almost to the knee make for a great roman soldier fancy dress.
