How to make a mermaid fancy dress?
The most important part of a mermaid outfit has to be the tail. As we all know a mermaid has the body of a woman but legs of a fish. It would be a little bit awkward to hobble/hop around a party with the legs of a fish so usually in this fancy dress costume a skirt is used for the legs. In order to make if suitably fish like it extends right down to the feet and opens with a sash in the middle. Often there is a veil accompanying the skirt to give it an underwater effect.
